The UN announced the investigation into the clash between INS
Eilat and TCG Barbaros and TCG Bodrum has concluded. Making use of the
intelligence provided by the Americans, independent UN investigators concluded
that the INS Eilat did violate Turkish territorial waters. The investigation
further concluded that the TCG Barbaros did not fire a warning shot, instead
the first shot struck the stern of the Eilat.
